There is little doubt that these tournaments are designed to determine the best of the best and separate the rookies from those that eat, drink and sleep this game. These are the people that have their copy the second that it is able to be purchased and will spend days in a row trying to become the best of the best with the game. Things have become so popular, that many times there are film crews from a popular sports network to film these and turn them into specials to air. The people that compete in these are household names that are able to be recognized by the faithful that have devoted their life to the franchise. If you think that this is just a bunch of people sitting around with an excuse to play video games, think again. These are often times sponsored by national companies and held at popular sports bars all across the country. The people that enter these are not amateurs and have been training for months in order to have a shot at being great. There is a lot of dedication that is placed into these tournaments and often times they are held in a one day time span. The quarters are reduced to five minutes, making the challenge that much more intense. For many of these people this is more than a game, they act like this is their playoffs and they are heading for the championship. Still doubt that these tournaments are big, then take one look around at the amount of exposure that these tournaments tend to get from the media and the rest of the world. When a major sports network films segments that they use for specials, then you know that you are in the big leagues.

Other tournament pop up out of nowhere and are among a certain group of friends. Here the wager is money and often times this leads to a person being a little richer than when they entered the tournament. While these are not sanctioned by any official body, they are still fun as you get the chance to compete against your friends for dominance in the football world.

Real Players Play Playstation Football Games

When Madden footballs games were in their early stated many considered them to be a failure when held against the original vision. This had much to do with the limits placed on that vision as a result of the fact that there was simply not enough computer power in the average home system to bring the game to life in the way the original vision called for. Of course, 20 years later, 85 million games sold and profits that to 3 billion have proved it to be an extreme success. It now boasts real football player names and statistics, professional plays and exceptional graphics. These are a few of the many reasons why it has become quite possibly the more popular of the playstation football games.

In fact Madden was not the first professional consulted for the game. There were players and even coaches that turned down the change at being the games name sake and guiding influence, however they all have prior obligations or simply were not interested. Fate came in to play and Madden, who is a super bowl winner and well known announcer, is probably most recognized through the game. The game has evolved over the years and adds new features to each new release. Franchise mode was added to the game in almost a decade after it's creation. This allowed players to do more than just control the players. They could actually manage the rosters by trading and drafting players for their virtual teams. This was already being done with some baseball games available at the time but was a first for any football offering. In 2003 multiple ways to play the game were introduced. Players could opt for a single, quick game or they could choose to play an entire season or even multiple seasons. It was as time time that online play, where players could match their skills against others using the internet, was introduced. This was initially available only on the playstation 2 console.

In the version released in 2004, the playmaker tool was introduced. This was an exciting new feature that gave players the ability to use joystick control to change the direction of plays at the line of scrimmage. This allowed for better audibles to be chosen after the defensive alignment was seen and greatly enhanced the realism for the game. In 2005, the playmaker feature was added to the defensive side as well. This leveled the playing field between the offense and the defense and gave the defenders the ability to match audibles called by the offense. As with the 2004 release, the addition of the defensive playmaker tool did much for the realistic playing style of the game.

Versions that have been released in the last years have contained other unique aspects of play like the trick stick, control of lead blockers on running play calls, and a weapons control used with superstar players. Even league play is now possible, giving up to 32 people the opportunity to play an entire season from a single console or through the internet.

Playstation football games have been extremely popular for both the pc and the console for more than 20 years, and the enhanced features for the future promise to keep it on top. Playstation 3 Madden football games give players a game that is as close to the real thing as any sports simulation game being sold today.

Information To Understand Concerning Playstation Football Games

You will have likely noticed that if you have been playing a good bit of sports games throughout the life of video games in general, that they have progressively improved through each passing year. You will find that a good example of this would be Playstation football games. They are always improving every single edition that is annually released.

You will find that if you take the time to read through this particular article that you will get a good look at why this is the case with these newer football titles. People are quite literally drawn to them and with good reason. You will get a decent look at the most popular selling points of these titles so that you can determine for yourself if you can have a great time playing one of these titles.

You should be able to tell within a minute or so from turning the game on what has really made a considerable difference to the average player. If you have not played a football game in awhile, you will likely experience some pretty intensely real looking graphics. You see, gaming in general has formed quite an impressive relationship with high definition, and therefore, your gaming experience has become HD as well. In addition to this, the roster remains consistent with the previous year's players. So if your favorite player was on a roster the year before the game that you are playing, than you are going to be able to play them in the game. This is a pretty nice feature because it keeps things current, however these titles like Madden have gone a step farther than even this.

The folks behind Madden have taken this aspect up a notch, by allowing you to download the most current roster every time that you would like to. So what this means is, throughout the season or throughout the year, if the league picks up or drops people, your game will too if you want it to. Some content allows you to choose between prominent players of the past as well.

You will find that the game play itself has received a bit of a face lift as well. You see, so many games were made that were generic in various positions, and the consistencies that you would experience made the game play unrealistic. However, everything affects the game now. Weather, individual computer performance of unused players, and a number of other crucial aspects. You will find that you are going to have to start thinking more like the Field General that you are. You have to wait for receivers to get open, you have to wait for the perfect lane opening to run through or make a new one if need be. You have to play defense well, too or you are going to have quite a close game on your hands. Learn the teams you play, notice the patterns and you can master defensive play. You will find that Playstation football games are just all around better than other football titles have been in many years. While the changing of graphics and performance helped, most people believe that it had more to do with the companies listening to the fans and what they wanted to play.

A Look At The Excitement Of NHL Games For Xbox & Playstation Game Consoles Today

When people look back at their youth it's often through rose tinted spectacles and everything seems like it was much better back then. The food you ate had more taste and the days never seems to end. These days there is not much that you can put your finger on and say that it is definitely better now. That is apart from NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles.

It's no longer a case of pushing a little puck which looks more like a white dot around the screen. Or even controlling a matchstick version of Wayne Gretsky around as if that made you feel like it was him on the screen. No though people can play a game of hockey on their console for pure enjoyment.

Not all progression in presentation means that you will end up with a better game. Lots of the time all you need to enjoy yourself is the basic shapes but you need something. Something like speed and or accuracy to test your reflexes and skill. The games that have gone down in history whether they have been hockey, NHL, console based or not, have all had one thing in common. They have all been very playable. In some, the presentation didn't really matter at all. Like the type with the falling blocks that you have to arrange, many games relied solely on their ability to keep you coming back for more. Hockey games have been no different and no matter who is on the cover of any NHL title, it's what's inside the box that has really mattered. OK so there have been games that have been very successful without the great looks of today's big titles. These have been successful due to the intelligence of the games's inventor. They have known what a player wants and it might not always be a complete NHL league line up with all the stats to go with it. But I bet all that up to date information helped a lot when the players were choosing their best line up to compete against a friend. In this day and age, games console hockey games are so far advanced that if they get any better then they'll be in the room with us. You never know, with the growing popularity of 3D TVs you may see something like a 3D hockey game before long. That technology is probably already with us it's just a case of making it affordable.

The continued progression has seen hockey games and in particular NHL titles catch up with the rest of the sports games out there. In fact NHL games are rapidly becoming one of the most popular team sports games on any platform.

It's lucky then that we are time a time when the advances in technology have made as privy to the world through different eyes. NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles are no so realistic that there are eve television shows that carry earl life live events where two gamers take each other on. Sure enough the industry has evolved and it is probably taking us with it.

Some offer a bit more of an incentive to make it all the way to the top with a monetary prize. If you normally thing of making a few extra bucks a nice Saturday afternoon, you usually would think you have to head to the office. But never leave your couch and play a video game as your favorite team. You can't define an NHL 10 tournament in just a couple of words. They come in so many varieties that there is always something new popping up. Gather a couple friends or join the nameless ranks of hundreds of people in an online tournament extravaganza and make a name for yourself. Just don't let your guard down. There are plenty of websites and organizations that offer to host these tournaments. Some places require an entry fee in order to participate, however most of the time it is the ones that require you to pay that have payouts in the end. Winning gives the biggest boost in pride and confidence as a gamer. You just had hours of fun and intense competition, and there is nobody left to defeat. Best case scenario for winning is you walk away with some prize cash to put towards your next video game or weekend toys. The worst case is you only win pride and the ability to rub it in your friend's face. The community drives the need for tournaments, so if you enjoy the game and have a competitive spirit, it only makes sense to get out and participate. A Short NBA Live 2010 10 Video Game Overview For The PlayStation Or Xbox

This is an NBA Live game review for PlayStation and Xbox. NBA Live is one of EA's most popular video games. Each year, numerous basketball games are released but NBA Live's yearly version always seems to be among the front runners. 2010's edition is no different, with its quality graphics, user input, and animations, this very last version of NBA Live has received extremely positive reviews.

Additional jerseys are featured in the 2010 NBA Live, the franchise's first. 1990 and 1980 throwback jerseys were added as well as several teams' alternate jerseys. Even more shoes and uniforms can be unlocked when using special codes. Though it is unsure if every NBA team will receive new jerseys, only two codes have so far been announced but more are likely.

The game's graphics also received a massive overhaul. It features smoother and quicker animations that allow for a more maximum play. Items like the courts and lights were designed to look more realistic. When enhanced on a plasma screen, the game is grainier but overall looks extremely well.

Other smaller graphics like the background and the players are more detailed as well. Unlike previous installments, this year's NBA Live game has a much more realistic background. The members of the crowd were designed to look more real and lifelike. Even the players themselves were give more exact and personal details such as tattoos, hairstyles, and other accessories. The basketball stars in this edition were made to be more easily recognized than previous ones. The game's controls were altered slightly so that it isn't necessary to control the players one hundred percent of the time. Using this auto mode can result in more turnovers though. For those who want to, it is quite possible to expand the control over the players.

The game is easy enough so that even users who have not played experienced a sports game can easily understand it. Things like shooting the ball and passing it to fellow players are both one button actions. And nearly all of the console controllers employ the right pad to control the basketball athletes. Playing on the defense is easy too, just position your athlete by one from the opposite team and it will take care of the rest on its own.

The update of the player DNA system from past games has significantly improved as well. The 2010 edition's DNA updates individual player's tendencies and attributes almost instantly. This year's game will also allow users to play real games almost as they happen in the real world. And with the NBA team's rosters and line ups updating instantly in the game, it makes for a much improved Dynasty Mode as well.

The soundtrack was updated and revamped for this version to include more current bands and artists. There are more songs this year and that cuts down drastically on the music's redundancy during the game and training mode. They were programmed to change and react to the beat of the games.

FIFA Soccer Games For XBox And Playstation - The Adjustments And Improvements

Football games are not exactly few and far between and they are all very similar in nature. However, the ultimate enjoyment of the game is dependent on the sum of its parts and in some cases, players will likely get more enjoyment from some features than others. The FIFA soccer games for XBox and Playstation are considered the absolute prime of football games. They have the bonus of not only having an official license from the world governing body of football, but they also feature many exclusively-licensed leagues and teams that no other game has. Published and and developed annually by Electronic Arts, the series begin in 1993, but the greatest gameplay was achieved with the later games.

FIFA 07

The first FIFA Xbox 360 game, it was an iteration of refinement. The team count was lowered in order to increase the focus on the remaining four leagues, as well as the additional national teams. The crowd also saw several improvements as it can now respond to the game's events, as well as it being local to the region. Also, there may be pockets of the crowd that are away support and will react accordingly. These crowd changes bring a lot more life into the games and have been met with a positive reaction by the players.

2007 - FIFA 08

FIFA 08 furthers the online portions of the game, keeping in line with the growth of the multiplayer market. Online cooperative play and player vs player interactive leagues are now available online, allowing players to choose their league and team to compete against a real player. This was refined with the ability to carry out trick moves. Additional gameplay additions include 'Be a Pro Mode', which gives the players the ability to play a match as only a single player in the team, besides the goalkeeper. Overall, the game also sees a decrease in the speed of each match.

2008 - FIFA 09

Containing perhaps the largest assortment of improvements from any of the FIFA games, this one contains hundreds, according to the game's producer. An addition to the gameplay is the responsiveness refinement, which allows for an increased measure of control over the ball and a new collision system that takes into account the speed, weight and power of the two players that collide. The goalkeeper has also seen its own improvement as they now utilize better positioning, recovery and reactions.

Following even this large assortment of changes, there are further improvements to the weather and time. While in Manager mode, there are no weather effects, but Kick-Off mode allows for rain and snow matches. Dependent on the stadium, matches can be played during the day, dusk or night.

FIFA 10

FIFA 10 is the latest FIFA game available and brings less improvement, but perhaps more important ones for some gamers. The Manager Mode sees its major revision for this iteration. The user can now employ an Assistant Manager to deal with the team line-up as well as other squad-specific details. Additionally, finances are less focused on the sponsors and more on the wages dealt to them. The Manager Mode also shows news about other people's own Manager events. One exceptional improvement is the Auto-Resolve, which is no longer apparently random, but resolves a match based on each team's strength now.

The Bittersweetness of a Madden Cover Appearance

Perhaps the most highly anticipated video game every year is the Madden NFL series from EA Sports. The Madden football games took the nascent video game industry by storm, and haven't slowed down yet. The team behind Madden even attends the NFL Draft every year in order to get headshots of rookies in their NFL uniforms as early as humanly possible. The competetive side of the phenomenon has grown too, and now hundreds of pro Madden players make tons of money playing in tournaments. Millions of people take release day off work every year, and a Madden Holiday is as close as the game industry is likely to ever get to it's own national holiday.

For all the good that comes with the hype and hysteria of Madden NFL, there is a downfall to the game's yearly release. Since Madden gave up the game's cover appearance starting with the 1999 installment for a different annual cover athlete, that player has suffered from poor play or injury, leading to the belief that there is a Madden NFL curse.

The Madden curse made it's mark again in 2009. Two players made their way onto the cover of Madden 10 for the first time ever. It's a classic matchup that re-lives the drama of Super Bowl 43; Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals and Troy Polomalu of the championship Steelers. In the Steelers' first regular season game, and Troy Polomalu's first after being put on the cover of Madden 10, he injured his ankle while blocking a field goal. The Steelers had to play the rest of the season without their star defensive player.

One would think that everyone in the league would have learned to avoid Madden by now. Athletes are notoriously superstitious, and next time Madden comes a callin', most would be better off to just decline. Histroy has taught us that the negative effect of being on the Madden cover, for whatever scientific or non-scientific reason, is a real thing.

Historical examples of the Madden Curse:

2002: QB Daunte Culpepper was honored with a Madden 02 cover appearance folliowing his team's final four appearance in 2000. He followed this up by missing the last five games of the 2001 season with a hurt knee, and his team missed the playoffs.

2003: After gracing the cover of Madden 03, RB Marshall Faulk played the whole 2002 season with a hurt ankle and missed the 1,000 rushing yard mark for the first time in 6 years while his team rounded out the season with a 7-9 record, which wasn;t good enough for a playoff appearance.

2004: Atlanta Falcons franchise QB (and a Madden player's favorite QB at the time) missed the entire 2003 season after gracing the cover of Madden 04. His team finished 5-11 (missing the playoffs of course) without him.

2006: Donovan McNabb was featured on the cover of Madden 06, and in week one of the 2005 season, you guessed it, Donovan McNabb suffered a hernia. It plagued ihim all season, and he eventually missed the last 7 games of the season.

That evidence is hard to refute. So, how will Drew Brees fare against the msyterious and enignmatic "Madden Curse?"
